As 2024 begins, Gran Turismo 7 (GT7) enthusiasts are gearing up for a year of thrilling racing experiences. While there were no updates in December, the new year has brought fresh excitement to the game with a series of exhilarating races in Sport Mode.

This week, players will dive into the world of Japanese automotive excellence, featuring iconic tracks and cars that will set the tone for a year full of racing action.

Race A: Lexus LFA ’10 showdown at Fuji International Speedway

The week’s first race takes players to the Land of the Rising Sun for a heart-pounding showdown at the Fuji International Speedway. Competitors will be able to test their skills as they navigate this iconic track for five intense laps. The vehicle of choice for this race is the Lexus LFA ’10, and it promises to be an exhilarating 12-car field race.

    Race A details

    Track: Fuji International Speedway

    Race Length: 5 laps

    Car: Lexus LFA ’10

    Tire Type: Sports Hard

    Fuel Consumption: 1x

    Tire Wear: 1x

    Balance of Performance (BoP): Mid-speed

Damage and Penalties: Light mechanical damage, shortcut penalties, and penalties for collisions with other cars.

    Start: Grid start

Sportsmanship Rating (SR) Impact: Affected by crashes and collisions

In this race, strategy is key as players must manage their fuel and tire wear effectively. With a mid-speed BoP applied to all cars, no further adjustments are allowed, leveling the playing field for all participants. However, players must keep their Sportsmanship Rating in check, as any unfortunate collisions or crashes will impact it during the race.

Race B: Gr.3 showdown at Suzuka

The Japanese racing excitement continues with Race B, featuring five thrilling laps at the world-renowned Suzuka circuit. All participants will compete in Gr.3 cars, ensuring an exhilarating and balanced race. The tire choice for this race is the Racing Hard, adding an extra layer of challenge to the competition.

    Race B details

    Track: Suzuka

    Race Length: 5 laps

    Car: Gr.3 cars

    Tire Type: Racing Hard

    Fuel Consumption: 1x

    Tire Wear: 1x

    Balance of Performance (BoP): Mid-speed

Vehicle Tuning: Brake balance and partial suspension changes allowed

Damage and Penalties: Light mechanical damage, shortcut penalties, and penalties for wall collisions and contact with other players.

Sportsmanship Rating (SR) and Driver Rating (DR) Impact: Both DR & SR are active

While a mid-speed BoP maintains fairness among competitors, players can fine-tune their cars’ brake balance and suspension to gain an edge. However, maintaining good sportsmanship is essential, as DR and SR will be affected by racing incidents or contact with other players on the track.

Race C: High-stakes action at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

The final race of the week takes us to Spain for 11 high-octane laps on the challenging No Chicane layout of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. In this race, all participants will be behind the wheel of Gr.4 cars, adding an element of unpredictability to the competition. Tire strategy becomes crucial with the Racing Medium tire, and a mandatory pit stop will test players’ racing instincts.

    Race C details

Track: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya – No Chicane

    Race Length: 11 laps

    Car: Gr.4 cars

    Tire Type: Racing Medium

    Fuel Consumption: 1x

    Tire Wear: 4x

Mandatory Pit Stop Strategy: Choose between 5-6 or 6-5 tire strategy

    Balance of Performance (BoP): Mid-speed

Vehicle Tuning: Brake balance and partial suspension changes allowed

Damage and Penalties: Light mechanical damage, shortcut penalties, and penalties for wall collisions and contact with other players.

Sportsmanship Rating (SR) and Driver Rating (DR) Impact: Both DR & SR are active

As the most challenging race of the week, players must carefully strategize their tire choices and pit stop strategy to maximize their chances of victory. With mid-speed BoP and tuning options, drivers can fine-tune their Gr.4 cars for optimal performance. However, they must remain cautious on the track, as any incidents or contact with fellow competitors will influence DR and SR.
