Ripple has pledged $25 million to support U.S. classrooms and teachers, the company announced Monday.
The funding, provided through Ripple’s partnership with DonorsChoose and Teach For America, will be delivered primarily in the form of Ripple USD (RLUSD), the company’s US dollar-pegged stablecoin.
The initiative aims to address educational resource gaps, as 55% of US parents and adults report dissatisfaction with the quality of K–12 education, Ripple said.
Through the program, Ripple intends to provide resources that improve academic outcomes, foster economic resilience, and help young Americans and educators thrive in a rapidly evolving job market.
“Ripple has always championed financial and educational access for all, and we’re partnering with some of the most impactful organizations—DonorsChoose and Teach For America—to benefit thousands of classrooms across the US,” said Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple.
The funding will support a range of efforts, including classroom projects, teacher requests during Teacher Appreciation Week, Teach For America’s Ignite tutoring program, and a national STEM Innovation Challenge.
The initiative also includes financial literacy programs aimed at helping students and educators build long-term economic mobility.
Teachers across the US frequently spend out of pocket, sometimes thousands of dollars, to ensure their students have adequate resources, according to DonorsChoose CEO Alix Guerrier.
He noted that Ripple’s initiative helps alleviate that burden by directly funding classroom materials and providing students with essential tools to support their academic success.
Teach For America CEO Aneesh Sohoni called Ripple’s support “transformative,” adding that the funds will help scale key programs like Ignite Tutoring Fellows, drive innovation through the Reinvention Lab, and offer financial aid to thousands of incoming corps members during training.
The partnership, he emphasized, falls in line with Teach For America’s mission to promote educational equity for all students.
Since 2018, Ripple has contributed more than $200 million to global social impact efforts, with nearly 80% of its employees participating in giving and volunteering programs.
Ripple launched its USD-pegged stablecoin in late 2024 to enhance its payment infrastructure and compete with established stablecoins like Tether’s USDT and Circle’s USDC.
The crypto asset is nearing a market capitalization of $317 million, per CoinMarketCap.
